Over 1,400 black-necked cranes winter in Zhaotong

The Dashanbao National Nature Reserve for Black-necked Cranes in Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province, was established in 2003. In recent years, the local authority have carried out ecological restoration projests and food source bases construction in order to protect and expand the habitat of black-necked cranes. Accroding to the reserve administration, there are currently more than 1,400 black-necked cranes overwintering.
