Shangri-la

Blue sky, snow--white clouds, endless grassy marshlands, pearl-like lakes and clusters of wild flowers impress visiters with coolness. The Meri Snow Mountain, Yunling Snow Mountain and Zhongdian Snow Mountain are labeled with cool freeze even if you bear intense heat of summer. Far from the madding crowd, you can free yourself in the nature, listening to birds tweedling, brook babbling and wind singing.

Zhaotong

The charm of Zhaotong City lies in the unique historic figures and cultural heritage. Splendid scenic spots endowed by the nature have become tourism resources in Zhaotong.

You can visit the Dousha Gate, the place where a five-foot-wide forest trail winding in the mountains. It is the well-known "Five-Foot Road" which was paved in Qin Dynasty (from 221 BC to 206 BC). The footprints of horses left on stairs, in different hight and width, have been branded on the path with strong historical atmosphere. You can also travel around Qinglong Mountain where you are supposed to find a mysterious underground karst cave, Qinglong Cave. Some springs running around the cave constantly are named "Longquan Holy Springs". Consisting of white stalactites, tier upon tier, it enjoys particular views with the clear water, adding radiance and beauty to each other.

Tengchong

Tengchong County is situated on the west border of Yunnan province. As the winter here is not too cold and the summer is not intensely hot, it is a perfect spot for holiday all the year around. It is really a wise choice to spend vacations in Tengchong in summer.

Heshun Town in Tengchong County has been enjoying a good reputation of one of the most popular old towns in China. It was called Yangwentun in the early days, but was renamed as "Heshun", as a brook flows around the village. Temples, ancestral halls, ancient complexes dating back to Ming and Qing Dynasties have brought the antique town with lasting appeal.
