Tongluoba National Forest Park in Zhaotong Prefecture, Yunnan

Tongluoba National Forest Park, a well-preserved subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest in northeast Yunnan, situated in Taiping Village, Shuifu County, Zhaotong Prefecture, covers an area of 50 square km.

The park, with 5 brooks, 18 basins, 7 lakes and dozens of waterfalls, has enjoyed national-level tourism area since 1999. Moreover, there live some first-class protected animals and plants, including snub-nosed monkeys, leopards, pythons, cyatheas, davidia involrcratas and metasequoias.

In Tongluoba, the water is transparent. Stones, waterweeds and tiny aquatic lives can be seen from the water of the lakes. In an area called "the Pigeon Valley", it looks as if thousands of white doves dance together when avidia involrcratas bloom. Besides, there are huge trees over thousands of years old and rhododendrons.

Supporting facilities are built in the park, including traffic roads of 8 km, footpaths of 3 km, wooden footways of 2km, a tourism center of 600 ㎡and parking lot area of 3,000 ㎡ .

Tips:

I. Tongluoba National Forest Park is over 40 km away from the county seat of Shuifu.

II. Shuifu is over 660 km away from Kunming via expressway. Direct buses and trains are optional ways. Moreover, tourists can take a plane to Yibin City of Sichuan Province and then transfer to buses. Shuifu is 32 km away from Yibin via expressway.

III. The tourism area is usually opened from 8:00am to 18:30, while from 9:00am to 17:00 in winter.

IV. The full-fare ticket is 20 yuan, and 10 yuan for each child.
