On April 22, the reporter learned from China Railway Kunming Group Co., Ltd. that the main cable of Jinsha River Super Large Bridge of Lixiang Railway (Lijiang-Shangrila Railway) has been successfully erected. According to the construction plan, the middle-span steel longeron of this bridge will be erected in May, and the conditions for laying tracks will be ready by the end of this year.
Jinsha River Super Large Bridge paralleled with the Lijiang-Shangrila highway under construction is located 3 kilometers upstream of the Tiger Leaping Gorge which is a scene spot along Jinsha river in Lijiang city, Yunnan province, and is one significant component of the Lixiang Railway construction. With 882.5 meters in length, 660 meters in main span, this bridge is the first large-span railway suspension bridge with steel longeron in China. It also has two main towers which are 194.5 meters and 155.5 meters in height respectively.
The main track of Lixiang Railway is 139 kilometers long, with a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour. As an important part of China's western railway network, it will end the history of railway impassability in Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Yunnan, after completing and opening to traffic.
