On January 18, the Kunming Urban Landscape Curatorial Experience Center officially opened. Located between the Daguan Pavilion along the shores of Dianchi Lake and the Dianchi Greenway in Kunming City, the center aims to promote the organic integration of parks with culture, tourism, and scientific research. It achieves a harmonious blend of "government, industry, research, and tourism," serving as a platform for comprehensive government coordination and resource integration, a space for enterprises to showcase their unique features and market their brands, a vehicle for scientific research institutions to engage in popular science education and result transformation, and a specialized park for tourists to enjoy sightseeing and leisure activities.
The Yunnan Camellia Exhibition, which combines inspiration and aesthetics, was launched simultaneously on the same day. This exhibition features over 2,000 camellia plants from 20 varieties, including traditional famous species and rare, precious varieties from Yunnan. Among them are six "Flower Kings," such as "Hentiangao," "Luchengchun," and "Snow Beauty(Xuejiao)," providing visitors with a visual feast. The Yunnan Camellia Exhibition will continue until mid-March, alongside a natural science exhibition, allowing visitors to gain knowledge while enjoying the beautiful scenery.
The event also featured several pop-up shops, markets, and coffee carts, offering visitors a rich experience in the park. Guests can taste specialty coffee and tea, as well as purchase handicrafts and unique souvenirs.
Additionally, five community workshops, including lacquered round fans, New Year Jiama, and aromatherapy yoga, provide visitors with a relaxing experience of natural healing in a pleasant atmosphere. Three educational activities, such as environmental DNA monitoring, soil art painting, and plant DIY crafts, allow visitors to experience the magical charm of nature interactive engagement.
Inspired by the city flower of Kunming, the camellia, the overall layout of the curatorial experience center resembles a blooming camellia flower, with various plant areas and functional zones distributed around like petals. The park features several themed gardens and activity spaces, including a central island, sunset garden, trachycarpus fortunei garden, and aromatic garden, each with its unique characteristics, providing visitors with a rich touring experience.
In the future, the curatorial experience center will continue to host a variety of colorful themed activities, offering citizens and tourists more opportunities to explore landscape gardening and highland specialty plants, collectively embracing a lifestyle that embodies the essence of Yunnan.
