Mohan Port's achievements on the China-Laos Railway

On December 3, 2021, at 16:45, a Fuxing train slowly departed from Kunming South Railway Station in China. Meanwhile, at the other end, 1,035 kilometers away, the "Lancang" train left Vientiane Station in Laos. The China-Laos Railway has been officially opened.

In the three years since its opening, the train has traversed the mountains and rivers of China and Laos, continuously updating its milestones and data, meticulously charting the grand vision of the Belt and Road Initiative, and making significant strides in building a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind. The railway has become a significant practice and a relentless testament to the spirit of our era.

Since its opening, the China-Laos Railway has operated more than 60,000 passenger trains, transported 41.7 million passengers, carried 46.7 million tons of goods, and handled 10.7 million tons of cross-border cargo by November 3, 2024. The railway has become an actual international transport artery.

International freight trains have achieved cross-border inaugural operations, including the "China Railway Express," "Shanghai-Yunnan, Hunan-Yunnan, and Yunnan-Guizhou + Lancang-Mekong" lines. The China-Laos Railway City Alliance was established after being jointly initiated by Kunming and Vientiane. The Mohan railway port has become the country's most efficient customs clearance port, with the fastest freight growth and the largest railway port serving the ASEAN region. It has laid a solid foundation for advancing the China-Indochina Peninsula Economic Corridor with countries along the line.
