there is a bridge spanning the canyon,

connecting Yunnan and Guizhou provinces.

This is the Beipanjiang Bridge, renowned as

"the world’s highest bridge."

Atop the white clouds,

there is the Traffic Police Brigade of the Xuanwei Public Security Bureau in Qujing City

and the Baoshan Law Enforcement Station,

ensuring the safety and smooth operation of the Beipanjiang Bridge.

In the river valley’s sandy area,

there is the Puli Police Station of the Xuanwei Public Security Bureau,

guarding the villagers’ peace and helping them thrive.

From 920 meters to 2715.9 meters,

different elevations,

but the same mission.

Together, they protect "Ink and Water Puli,"

applying "police colors" to depict the foundation of peace.

Cold in winter, hot in summer, and windy in spring and autumn

The Baoshan Law Enforcement Station of the Traffic Police Brigade of the Public Security Bureau of Xuanwei City currently has a total of 7 police officers and auxiliary police officers who are responsible for traffic safety on the 35-kilometre one-way stretch from the junction of the Beipanjiang Bridge between Yunnan and Guizhou provinces to the Geyi Toll Station. "It is cold in winter, hot in summer and windy in spring and autumn. The conditions are very difficult, but the more difficult it is, the more proud I am of this job. Working on the world's highest bridge is something that others cannot experience..." said police officer Zhang Guosai.

The unique geographical location necessitates specialized police work. As the guardians of the "world's highest bridge," every winter is their most challenging time. They must monitor the temperature 24 hours a day, and if ice is detected on the bridge surface, immediate traffic control is required. "Simply imposing traffic control isn't enough; we also need to apply de-icing agents to the road surface to melt the ice and snow, restoring traffic as quickly as possible," said Zhang Guosai.

From the bridge at an altitude of 2,715.9 metres to the Lalongcha River at an altitude of more than 900 metres, the ups and downs create a breathtaking view of the Beipanjiang Bridge and attract a large number of tourists. On duty at the "popular photo spot", members of the police station are both proud and nervous. "Some tourists stop on the bridge to take pictures, ignoring the dangers. During peak travel seasons, the most common phrase we say is: "Let's go and patrol the bridge".

"During the holiday period, traffic increases dramatically, and you can see the busy figures of traffic police everywhere, maintaining order and ensuring our safe travels." Speaking about the police stationed at the bridge, Mr. Miao, a local with over 20 years of driving experience, offered his heartfelt praise.

Building the "Six Links" joint mechanism for cross-regional police cooperation

Puli Township is adjacent to Duge Town, Shuicheng District, Guizhou Province. The Beipanjiang Bridge has turned the natural barrier between Yunnan and Guizhou into a thoroughfare. "The roving crime used to be a headache for us. Some suspects would commit crimes in Guizhou's Shuicheng county in the morning and flee to Puli township at noon. Cross-provincial gambling, theft and other crimes would occur from time to time," said Li Junning, a police officer at the Puli police station.

In view of the actual situation in its jurisdiction, Puli Police Station has consolidated its grassroots base and implemented "border policing". It has openly cooperated with the Pingzhai and Duge police stations in Shuicheng District and continuously deepened the "six links" cross-regional collaborative policing mechanism of joint handling of police incidents, joint investigation of cases, joint prevention of public security, joint mediation of disputes, joint management of personnel and information networking, and promoted in-depth and multidimensional co-construction and co-governance, interactive prevention and control and sharing of results.

According to statistics, over the past two years, the crime rate in the Puli police station area has decreased by 68.3% year-on-year, the rate of conflict and dispute investigation and resolution has increased by 5.1% year-on-year, some administrative villages have achieved "zero crime", and the social security environment in the border areas has improved significantly.

"Guarding peace is our original mission, and addressing people's concerns is our responsibility. We remain on duty 365 days a year to ensure the nation's stability and protect the homes of countless families!" Li Junning expressed with confidence.

They forge a regret-free youth through their beliefs.

They express their loyalty to the motherland and the people through perseverance.
