Recently, the construction of the Ma Yuan to Jianshe Road section of the Kunming Ma Yuan to Xiao Cai Yuan Meter Gauge Block Project was completed, and the area was officially opened to the public. The century-old metre-gauge railway, green trains and old yellow walls create a rich historical and cultural atmosphere, attracting many citizens and tourists to appreciate the charm of the metre-gauge railway.

This project adopts a "metre-gauge + business + greenway" approach to create a composite urban linear landscape that integrates culture, ecology and tourism. The length of the large-scale characteristic market in this comprehensive improvement demonstration section is about 3 km, and the setting area is from the metre-gauge Xiyuan Road intersection to Minyuan Road, it is divided into five sections by Xiyuan Road, Yunnan-Myanmar Avenue, Hongshan East Road, Jianshe Road, Lianhuachi Main Street and Minyuan Road, connecting the four street offices in Wuhua District. An urban greenway, two distinctive pocket parks and five historical and cultural districts have been built along the route. These five historical and cultural districts fully explore the existing historical culture of the area, enhance its unique characteristics while respecting history, and create market spaces such as Ma Yuan Memory Taste Market, Neighbourhood Market, Cultural Creative Market and Cultural Corridor.
