Painted streets in Kunming Area of China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone

Recently, citizens in Kunming Area of China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone found that two streets in Dachong area, Luoyang street office became different, which sidewalks and bicycle lanes turned colorful.

The reporter learned that this is the painted streets pilot project in Kunming Area and the 32th Street and the 43th street in Dachong area were the first part of the project. With a combination of symbolic pattern of Kunming Area and elements of Samei culture, the patterns were painted by a new environment-friendly material. As a section of schools around, these two streets will not only increase teachers’ and students’ understanding of the Kunming Area, but also make it more interesting and artistic around schools.

Besides aesthetic purpose, painted streets also play some practical roles in traffic safety. Different patterns in vehicle lanes, bicycle lanes and sidewalks help people distinguish different parts of the streets so that they can follow traffic rules better.

Image of Kunming Area of China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone has been upgrading since it was inaugurated. Next, the area will take action in afforesting and improvement of the environment to make a better image of the area.
