China (Yunnan) Pilot FTZ has implemented 82 national reform pilot tasks

Since its establishment in August 2019, the China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) has taken institutional innovation as the core to steadily promoted the construction of the FTZ. So far, 82 of the 106 national reform pilot tasks in the FTZ have been implemented, accounting for 77.4 percent of the total, successfully fulfilling the goal in the first year.

Zhao Zhiyong, Deputy Director of the System Innovation Department of the Department of Commerce of Yunnan Province, said that since the China (Yunnan) Pilot FTZ was inaugurated, it has been continuously promoting industrial agglomeration and attracting domestic and foreign enterprises to settle in the FTZ through various ways and independent innovation. Statistics show that by the end of 2020, the China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone had added a total of 44,000 new market entities. At the same time, it has gathered enterprises in agricultural products processing, logistics, advanced manufacturing, health, new materials, biomedicine and so on. 

The core of the Pilot FTZ is institutional innovation. It has optimized the functions and services, improved the business environment, and also innovated systems. In the Business Environment Development Report 2020, key cases and experiences of the business environment were released, making the FTZ play a role of benchmarking in Yunnan.

This year, the China (Yunnan) Pilot FTZ will continue to accelerate the reform pilot tasks, promote reform and development, effectively promote the implementation of the reform pilot tasks, and further strengthen the innovation of the business environment system.
