The China Cultural Center in Laos launched the first event of the 2025 Happy Chinese New year-a special exhibition "Laos Through the Eyes of Yunnan Artists" was held at the China Cultural Center in Laos on Dec 27, 2024.

Around 100 guests, including Wei Yanxiong from the Political Section of the Chinese Embassy in Laos, Wei Siliang, secretary general of the Kunming Association for External Economic and Technical Cooperation, representatives from Yunnan artists, faculty and students from the National Academy of Fine Arts in Laos, and representatives from the Yunnan Chamber of Commerce, attended the ceremony.

This painting exhibition was jointly organized by the Cultural Center and the Kunming Association for External Economic and Technical Cooperation, with cooperation from the Yunnan Arts Institute and the National Academy of Fine Arts in Laos.
Wei delivered a speech and introduced that in October 2024, artists including Zhou Nanhan, Wang Jian, Chen Yiyuan, Zhou Liming, Bian Xiaoqiang, Liu Bo, and Wang Haiyan from institutions such as the Central Academy of Fine Arts and the Yunnan Arts Institute visited Laos and spent 11 days along the China-Laos Railway for creative inspiration.

The exhibition presents the artistic outcomes of this field trip, showcasing a total of 43 pieces, including traditional Chinese painting, oil painting, watercolor, ink wash painting, acrylic painting, and digital art. The artists vividly captured the natural landscapes and cultural essence of Laos with lively brushstrokes and rich colors.

The exhibition will be on display until the Lantern Festival of the Chinese New Year of the Snake. During this period, the China Cultural Center in Laos will host a series of "Happy Chinese New Year" activities, including performances, intangible cultural heritage exhibitions, culinary delights, and calligraphy writing.
