China-Laos Railway celebrates third anniversary

This year marks the third anniversary of the China-Laos Railway's operation. Over the past three years, the railway has connected with the New Western Land-Sea Corridor and the China-Europe Railway Express, facilitating cross-border cargo transportation to 19 countries and regions, including Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam. The "golden road" of mutually beneficial cooperation continues to show its bursting vitality.
According to the latest data from customs, in the past three years, the total number of international freight trains on the China-Laos Railway has surpassed 15,000, with cross-border cargo volume exceeding 10.6 million tons and a total cargo value of over 44 billion yuan. The highest monthly cross-border freight volume exceeded 510,000 tons, a 12.6-fold increase compared to the first month of operation in 2021. The logistics efficiency of the China-Laos Railway is accelerating. In the first 11 months of this year, the import and export cargo value of the China-Laos Railway reached 16.81 billion yuan, surpassing the total cargo value of the previous year.
In the three years since its launch, the China-Laos Railway has continuously demonstrated the vitality of the international "Golden Corridor." More than 346,000 passengers have been transported, with passenger sources expanding to 108 countries and regions, injecting new vigor into the region's economic prosperity and development.
