On August 28, the International Forum on Future Transportation (Kunming) 2024 was held in the Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area of Kunming. More than 200 people attended the forum, including officials from relevant departments of Kunming City and experts and scholars from academic institutions, research organizations, and well-known enterprises in Kunming.

With the theme "Transportation Empowering Industries, Intelligence Driving the Future," the forum focused on the development status and future trends of industries such as low-altitude economy, rail transit, and intelligent network connectivity. It aimed to build a platform for communication and cooperation, pool resources from enterprises, institutions, and research organizations, explore future transportation development directions, and facilitate the collaboration, exchange, and implementation of scientific research achievements and innovative technologies in Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area.

The opening ceremony featured the "Invest in Yunnan, Opportunities in Dianzhong" investment opportunity release event and the unveiling of several institutes, including the Yunnan Research Institute of Shandong University, the Future Transportation Innovation Institute of Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area, the Low Altitude Technology Research Institute of Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area, and the Aerospace Information Application and Security Innovation Center of Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area. The Management Committee of Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area signed a cooperation agreement with Tongji University to build the Future Transportation Science City jointly, and the first flight ceremony of a hydrogen-electric hybrid highland long-endurance vertical takeoff and landing fixed-wing drone was held. In addition, key project signings were also conducted during the forum.

The forum hosted parallel sessions on low-altitude economy and rail transit with intelligent network connectivity. Experts and scholars from Peking University, Tongji University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, as well as research centers like the China Aviation Industry Civil Aircraft System Engineering Research Center, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's CCID Research Institute, and China Mobile Research Institute and representatives of several leading enterprises, gave keynote speeches on the current status, technological innovations, and future trends of intelligent transportation and low-altitude economy. Attendees visited the Future Transportation Science City project exhibition area, the Future Transportation Innovation Research Institute, and the Planning Exhibition Hall of Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area to gain a firsthand understanding of the Future Transportation Science City development in Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area.

In recent years, Yunnan has vigorously promoted the construction of a vital transportation province, and the three-dimensional transportation network has been continuously improved. As an essential area for Yunnan's development, Dianzhong New Area has a complete transportation system and significant location advantages. In the future, Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area will further advance the development of intelligent transportation and the low-altitude economy, focusing on implementing the "456" project to build an intelligent transportation industrial ecosystem and establish the Future Transportation Science City as a showcase for China's transportation solutions.
