On November 30th, the organizing committee of the 2023 SCO Kunming Marathon announced that the event will take place by the shores of Dianchi Lake on December 31st, 2023. The registration channel will officially open at 10:00 AM on December 2nd.

Participants must log in to the event's official website (www.sco-marathon.com) or official partner apps (Mara Mara, ATHLETICS) between 10:00 AM on December 2nd and 10:00 PM on December 9th, 2023, to complete the registration process and online payment. The organizing committee will use a lottery system to determine the final qualifications of the participants.

Ranking & Awards 

(1) Marathon (Top three based on gun time, fourth to eighth based on net time)

The award winners will receive the following bonuses (in USD), as listed in the table below.

Note 

1. Marathon male and female award winners will receive the prize money after the announcement of results and passing the drug test, through bank transfer.

2. Marathon male and female first to third place winners will receive one trophy and one medal each.

3. Participants who complete the entire marathon within the specified time will receive a finisher bag, a finisher towel, and a finisher medal.

Ranking & Awards 

(2) Best Performance Award (based on gun time)

For men, below 02:13:18, and for women, below 02:32:54, a cash prize of $5000 will be awarded, only for the 1st place winner.

(3) Special Award for Marathon Participants from SCO Member States (excluding Chinese athletes)

One male and one female participant will be selected based on gun time, and they will receive the cash prizes as listed in the following table (in USD).

(4) Half Marathon (based on net time)

The award winners will receive the cash prizes as listed in the following table (in USD).

(5) Participants who finish the Mass Health Run and SCO Family Run within the specified time will receive a finisher bag, a finisher towel, and a finisher medal.

(6) Awarding Regulations

For the top three male and female marathon finishers, as well as the top three male and female half marathon athletes (Participants must wear the attire provided by the organizing committee to receive the awards. During the award presentation, they are not allowed to bring any promotional materials unrelated to the event on stage. Otherwise, it will be considered as forfeiting the award).
