On March 31, the reporter visited Zhuanxin Wet Market in Kunming and found that the price of spring vegetables went up significantly compared with last week. For example, the price of Scotch broom per kilogram has increased from 80 RMB to 150 RMB while the price of Toona sinensis per kilogram increased from 30 RMB to 55 RMB.
"In previous years, I bought scotch broom at the lowest price of 60 RMB per kilogram. The price was 80 RMB per kilogram a few days ago." Local citizen Ms. Lin Xia said that the price of scotch broom almost doubled within a week.
"As the spring vegetables become fewer and fewer, the price is bound to rise. It will be more expensive in a few days”, said Guo Ling, a businessman. She explained that the spring vegetables can be sold for about a week at most. "I can't guarantee whether you can buy it next week, so just grab time to buy as soon as possible, or you'll have to wait until next year", she added.
