The Cuihu park has been related with lotus ever since it’s built. Every year, enjoying the bloom of lotus at Cuihu park has become routine of people in Kunming, so as this year. The 8th Lotus Festival is open today. Lotus and water lily in Cuihu lake has been blooming since early June, and it’s estimated that the full-bloom stage will be among late June and August. There will be a lot of species on display this year. To make the park coordinate with this festival, staffs have decorated the whole park with plants and scenes of local customs.

The Cuihu park occupies 40 mu of land, and started planting lotus since it’s built. The 16th National Lotus Festival was also held at the park. From then on, it has introduced many ornamental plants such as cattail and yellow iris, which make the park full of vigor.

During the festival, the other entertainments in the park will also be open. The visitors are expected to scan the QR code and accept the temperature examination when entering the park as well as wear masks.

The famous Ode to the Lotus Flower of Dunyi Zhou praised lotus’ characteristic of being gentle, and in Chinese, lotus has the same pronunciation as cooperation and peace, so Chinese always set lotus as a symbol of harmony.
