Recently, the the Jacaranda Avenue of Jiaochang Middle Road in Kunming is decorated by hand-painted walls with bright colors and rich characteristics, which brought a surprise to the tourists who came to enjoy the blooming jacaranda along the avenue during the May Day holiday. 

Hand-painted wall is one kind of mural that is any piece of artwork painted or applied directly on a wall, ceiling or other permanent surfaces. A distinguishing characteristic of mural painting is that the architectural elements of the given space are harmoniously incorporated into the picture. The completed mural has harmoniously incorporated part of the exterior walls of constructions and enclosures on the Jacaranda Avenue, highlighting the theme of jacaranda, happy bus, book shop and so on. In the following months, more walls there will be painted, and the murals will finally reach more than 4,000 square meters after completion. Together with jacaranda trees, they will consist of a cultural corridor, beautifying the avenue and showing the characteristics of the block.
