The reporter learned from China Railway Kunming Bureau Group Co., Ltd. that e-tickets for normal-speed trains have been being promoted around China since June 20, with about 40 railway stations in Yunnan. All the bullet trains (C, G & D trains) & normal trains (Z, T & K Trains) have been implementing e-ticket business.
Passengers using the e-ticket system are able to pass ticket checks with their ID cards and facial recognition instead of collecting tickets at the stations. The system also reduces waiting time from 3.8 seconds per person to 1.3 second per person.
After purchasing e-tickets, passengers can finish the real name system verification and check in-and-out with valid ID cards. When the train staff inspect the tickets, passengers only have to offer their valid ID card.
