Night market lightens Kunming’s nightlife

On the weekend night, Kunming Nanqiang street was ablaze and busy with lights and crowd. New stalls of Thai commodities sale attracted many visitors to select and purchase. The most distinctive Han Chinese clothing, exquisite head-wear and fan made the street unique and antique. Dazzling night market indicates the night economy of Kunming will be flourishing and prospering.

In the first phase of night market on Nanqiang street, there was an area selling Thai food and goods. Young ladies wearing beautiful Thai clothing were introducing sticky rice with mango, pad Thai, and tom yum soup to visitors. Ms. Lee, who had never been to Thailand, said that the night market made her like traveling in Thailand.

The staff who was in charge of the market explained that there were 11 booths in total, selling food, handicrafts, cosmetics and snacks. Visitors are welcomed to enjoy the exotic atmosphere from 11 am to 10 pm during October 18 to 27. In the future, Nanqiang street will further develop the market styles and types to build a new place to go for tourists and locals at night.
