India's industrial production growth marginally increased to 3 percent in March from 2.7 percent in February, showed the official data released by the country's Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation on Monday.
The growth rates of the three sectors, namely mining, manufacturing and electricity in March were 0.4 percent, 3.0 percent and 6.3 percent, respectively.
Within the manufacturing sector, 13 out of 23 industry groups recorded a positive growth in March, compared to the same month last year.
The top three positive contributors for March were manufacture of basic metals (6.9 percent), manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (10.3 percent) and manufacture of electrical equipment (15.7 percent).
