Yunnan flowers add beauty and fragrance to Spring Festival travel home

Colorful flowers, festive and intricate window decorations, and beautifully carved peacocks—on January 14, the first day of the Spring Festival travel rush—captivated passengers aboard train K80 from Kunming Railway Station to Shanghainan Railway Station, who snapped photos and shared the vibrant experience.

Inside the carriage, young performers from Yunnan showcased traditional ethnic mountain songs and dances, allowing passengers to immerse themselves in the unique charm of Yunnan's folk music. Chefs invited travelers to participate in making "flower-crossing-the-bridge" rice noodles and offered delicious treats such as flower cakes and rose beverages, embodying Yunnan's romantic tradition of coexisting with and dining on flowers.

On that day, the train attendants held fresh flowers and conducted a sharing activity titled "Share Your Story, Receive a Flower" in each carriage, inviting passengers to share their gains and insights from 2024 and express their New Year's wishes. "I feel so lucky to be on this train heading home. The romance of Yunnan is visualized at this moment. I believe that riding this train filled with flowers will definitely bring a fruitful new year," remarked passenger Li Lin, giving a thumbs up in admiration.

To enhance the festive atmosphere, China Railway Kunming Group Co., Ltd. organized themed activities such as "My Railway Journey" and "Flowers in Full Bloom: A Fragrant Rendezvous in Yunnan." Photo spots with the theme "The Journey Home Is the Most Beautiful Scenery" were set up in waiting halls at Kunming, Dali, and Lijiang Railway Stations. Window decorations were added to carriages on iconic high-speed and regular trains, improving the travel experience, creating a festive Spring Festival ambiance, and enriching passengers' journeys.
