Recently, the Lushui Youth League Committee, in partnership with China University of Petroleum (Beijing), launched a stamp-collecting activity in Lushui, inviting visitors to "Unlock the City of the First Eastern Canyon." With a small booklet, visitors can collect stamps at designated locations, allowing them to explore Lushui guided by each unique stamp.
Zhao Chen, a volunteer who had recently arrived from Heilongjiang, spent his free time visiting and photographing Bingsheba in Lisuzu village. Staff told him that collecting a stamp at the scenic spot would allow him to capture the essence of Lushui’s local customs and culture.
"How can a simple stamp contain so much knowledge?" Zhao Chen followed the staff with curiosity, went to the service centre and collected seven stamps.
"This stamp has such beautiful colors, and it features a lot of unique cultures, like climbing knife ladders, walking through fire, the Nujiang golden monkey, and activities like kayaking and cycling. There is also a postcard—I will send it back home for my family to see," Zhao Chen said happily.
"It is so creative! With just one stamp, you can learn about and explore all of Lushui," praised Li Fucheng, a young man from Lincang, who was in town for the Yunnan Province Relocation New Homelands Basketball Invitational and the "Dunk Nujiang" 2024 Nujiang Basketball Festival.

The stamping activity was held at the Lushui Agricultural and Cultural Tourism Integration Demonstration Site, the Lushui City Coffee Shop, and the Nujiang Agricultural Specialty Products Exhibition Hall. The two multicolored stamps feature elements like the Nujiang golden monkey, kapok flowers, climbing knife ladders, walking through fire, the Pianma Anti-British Memorial Hall, and various outdoor sports, highlighting the cultural and biological diversity of Lushui. This "one-stamp" experience showcases and promotes all that Lushui has to offer.
In addition to the stamp activity, the Lushui Youth League Committee has also introduced four exclusive postcards, each depicting scenes of cycling along scenic highways, white-water rafting on the Nujiang River, wingsuit flying through the canyon, and zip-lining over the river.
The activity has attracted many local young people, eagerly visiting each stamping site with their booklets to collect stamps.
"These stamps capture many of Lushui’s cultural and tourism elements. As a local, I am thrilled to see such a wonderful cultural product. I hope everyone will come and visit beautiful Lushui," said Wu Jingyu, an employee of the Lushui Bureau of Industry Information Technology and Science and Technology.
This summer, invited universities nationwide, inviting college students to Lushui for a "Youth Rendezvous" in the "City of the First Eastern Canyon". The initiative received an enthusiastic response from over twenty universities nationwide. During the event, the Youth League Committees of the China University of Petroleum (Beijing) College of Mechanical and Transportation Engineering and the Lushui Youth League Committee collaborated to design Lushui-themed cultural and creative products.
"This summer, the launch of these cultural and creative products has attracted a lot of appreciation and attention from both citizens and tourists. In the future, we will actively cooperate with various universities to align our efforts with the needs of Lushui's economic and social development, and guide more young people to take more responsibility for Lushui's high-quality development," said Qiao Lujia, secretary of the Lushui Youth League Committee.
