2024 Belt and Road Media Forum Guests Praise Kunming’s Development

Following the conclusion of the 2024 Belt and Road Media Cooperation Forum in Chengdu, Sichuan, media leaders from 29 outlets across 20 countries gathered in Kunming, Yunnan, on September 3rd with the aim of exploring the unique charm and vibrancy of the city.

During their stay, international guests gathered for a group photo at the Haigeng Training Base.

This event not only provided Kunming with a platform to showcase its allure but also served as a valuable opportunity for the international media community to exchange ideas and share experiences. Through firsthand experience and in-depth reports from the media representatives, Kunming's stunning landscapes, rich history, dynamic growth, and inclusive character will be more prominently featured on the world stage. This event is expected to enhance Kunming's international visibility and influence while further promoting collaboration and exchange in tourism, culture, and economic development with global partners.

Austin Mahon (transliteration), the editor-in-chief of Dawn, a Nigeria newspaper, praised Kunming's picturesque landscapes and rich culture. He remarked, "Kunming is truly a nice city, where the natural scenery is like poetry, making me unwilling to leave. Additionally, the culture here has left a profound impression on me, with its unique charm evident in the local customs, art, and history."

Paul Irado (transliteration), the content director of The Star, a Kenya newspaper, also commended Kunming's development. After visiting the Haigeng Training Base, he stated, "The facilities here are very advanced, providing an excellent training environment for athletes." He also expressed a keen interest in the city's cuisine and culture.

Looking ahead, Kunming aims to maintain its unique urban charm while continuously exploring and promoting its cultural heritage. The city is committed to accelerating its development and striving to become a more international city.
