Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin was on an official visit to Singapore on Thursday and met separately with Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, according to a statement by the Singaporean Foreign Ministry.
Tharman and Srettha during their meeting welcomed the potential to deepen bilateral cooperation in areas such as renewable energy, digital economy, fintech and combating cybercrimes, the statement said.
During Srettha and Lee's meeting, the two leaders discussed ways to further enhance cooperation, especially in digital economy and renewable energy, according to the statement.
The two prime ministers also agreed on the need for close cooperation within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), especially on the Laos-Thailand-Malaysia-Singapore Power Integration Project, which will serve as an important pathfinder to an ASEAN power grid, the statement noted.
