Sri Lanka's National Building Research Organization on Thursday issued a landslide early warning for five districts following heavy rains.
These warnings have been issued for areas in Galle, Kalutara, Kandy, Kegalle and Ratnapura districts.
Accordingly, people living in these areas were urged to be on alert about the possibility of landslides, slope failures, rock falls, cutting failures and ground subsidence.
The meteorology department said showers or thundershowers will occur at times in most parts of the South Asian country in the coming days.
