Transit goods refer to goods shipped from abroad and then transported to other countries through China's land routes, according to the head of the railway port supervision section of Mengla Customs under Kunming Customs. By using the "China-Laos Railway + China-Europe Railway Express" model, foreign goods can be transported throughout the railway within China, saving logistics time by 15 to 20 days compared to traditional sea and road transportation transferring to the China-Europe Railway Express.

To ensure the smooth and efficient customs clearance of this batch of goods within China, Kunming Customs closely liaised with railway departments and operating companies, conducted in-depth investigations and research, understood the needs of enterprises, and provided "one-on-one" guidance to the declaring enterprises in terms of bill issuance, manifest declaration, and transit customs declaration. Kunming Customs also provided convenient measures such as optimizing transit procedures, paperless customs clearance throughout the process, and fast clearance for transit goods. At the same time, Kunming Customs strengthened coordination and communication with Chengdu Customs and Urumqi Customs. With the application of high-tech supervision and inspection equipment, comprehensive supervision and coordinated support throughout the process of entry, transshipment, and exit are achieved.

In the first half of this year, Kunming Customs supervised and cleared a total of 2.146 million tons of import and export freight via the China-Laos Railway, representing a year-on-year increase of 194.4%, according to statistics.
