The guardians of the giant panda habitat

Song Ziqiang, 53, a ranger at the Pengzhou management and protection station of the Giant Panda National Park, has been working in giant panda protection for 21 years.

According to Song, the rangers should carry out biodiversity monitoring, infrared camera maintenance, and also need to check geological disasters and other situations. Rangers also look for traces of giant pandas and observe their activities. They collect giant pandas' footprints and feces as specimens for analysis.
