In order to give animals a taste of the Dragon Boat Festival, Yunnan Wildlife Park carefully prepared special zongzi for pandas, giraffes, raccoons, ring-tailed lemurs and others. These custom zongzi contained ingredients that animals like to eat, such as carrots, apples, pears, bananas, dates, steamed corn bread and so forth.
On June 23rd, Zookeepers prepared pandas frozen zongzi made of apples and watermelon to make them cool down in this stuffy summer. For ring-tailed lemurs, they got zongzi made of bananas, apples and dates. Animals didn’t know how to untie the ropes wrapped around the zongzi, but they were clever enough to figure out finally.
In addition to pandas and ring-tailed lemurs, other animals also received their festival gifts. Raccoons got steamed corn bread, and giraffe got carrot zongzi. During this three-day holiday, visitors are welcomed to go to the park to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival with these cute animals.
