The national scenic area, snowy Mount Biluo, situated in Lanping county, is the central axis of the Hengduan Mountains and a significant part of the World Natural Heritage "Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas". There are hundreds of alpine lakes here still in their original natural state, forming the spectacular scenery of "one lake connecting ten waterfalls, and thousands of waterfalls converging into a lake".
