Construction of longest part of China-Laos railway tunnel is coming to an end

Currently, construction workers are tying up the loose ends of the Anding tunnel, the longest part of China-Laos railway tunnel, to ensure the smooth operation of the railway. The China-Laos Railway is made up of the part in China and the other in Laos with a total length of over 1000 kilometers. All construction sites are making final preparations to guarantee the operation of China-Laos Railway by the end of this year.

Anding tunnel is located in Yuanjiang Hani, Yi and Dai Autonomous County in China’s Yunnan province. It is the longest tunnel (17.5 kilometers) on the entire China-Laos Railway and is classified as the first-class high-risk tunnel. The construction of this project is very rare in China’s tunnel construction field in terms of its scale, difficulties and high risk.
