To facilitate Inter-enterprise cooperation and discuss the opportunities and challenges faced by emerging industries in Kunming Area of China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone (Kunming Area of YNFTZ) , a development forum was held recently.

As the key area of China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone, Kunming Area has great development potential. Its advantages of superior spatial location, convenient transportation, abundant resource elements, accumulated modern industries, preferential supporting policy and excellent business environment can boost emerging industries. For example, new materials, biological medicine, new energy automobile, information industry, cross-border e-commerce, digital economy have achieved certain development in Yunnan.

At the forum, Zhao Xuefeng, secretary of Party Work Committee of Kunming Area of YNFTZ and Kunming Economic and Technological Development Zone, encouraged specialists, scholars and guests attending to actively give suggestions to improve the long-term development of Kunming Area of YNFTZ.

Economics Doctor Zhang Xiangjian, researcher of Shanghai Free Trade Zone Research Institute and Dr. Zhang Yong, the chief expert and dean of Silk Road Research Institute (Haikou) gave speeches respectively in the forum. They said developing emerging industry is the right way to transform and upgrade our country’s industry.

Provincial and municipal leaders as well as principals and specialists from other areas of Yunnan Free Trade Zone discussed the opportunities and challenges faced by emerging industries at the forum. They reached a consensus that consumer demand upgrading and optimized configuration of industrial chain would be Yunnan Free Trade Zone’s choice to promote the development of emerging industry.
