Malutang is a town in Yunnan where thousands acres of wild azaleas have bloomed since April. Now is the best time to admire these flourishing azaleas, and it is about 3 hours' drive from Kunming to there. Visitors are required to show their ID cards to purchase tickets (50 yuan per person) amid the epidemic. It is free for medical workers.
The azaleas here are all wild species, and a third of them are over 100 years old. Due to the complex terrain and high altitude, the less traveled area is almost primitive natural scenery and landscape.
During April 17 to May 17 this year, the scenic spot prepares a variety of leisure activities for visitors. There is also a market every Wednesday in Malutang town. Also note that just because the epidemic is not over, visitors need to wear face masks and keep a safe distance from others.
