Myanmar authorities have seized 50 kg of methamphetamine, or Ice, and 24 kg of raw opium in eastern Myanmar's Shan state, the official daily The Mirror reported on Monday.
Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotics police searched a vehicle in Kengtung township of Shan state on Friday and confiscated 50 kg of Ice, the report said.
Additionally, the police searched a motorcycle in Tachileik township of Shan state on Saturday and confiscated 24 kg of raw opium, the report said.
Two suspects, one from each case, were arrested, the report said, adding that the seized narcotics were worth 416.8 million kyats (about 198,476 U.S. dollars).
The suspects have been charged under the country's anti-narcotics law, and further investigations are ongoing, the report said.
