Singapore's non-oil domestic exports fall 2.1 pct amid mixed sector performance

Singapore's non-oil domestic exports (NODX) declined by 2.1 percent year-on-year in January, reversing from a 9.0 percent increase in December, according to data released by the government agency Enterprise Singapore on Monday.

The decline was driven by a contraction in non-electronics NODX, while the electronics sector registered growth.

Meanwhile, non-oil re-exports increased by 7.4 percent year-on-year in January, slowing from the 22.1 percent expansion recorded in December. Electronics re-exports grew, while non-electronics declined.

Singapore's total trade rose by 6.7 percent year-on-year in January, following a 19.0 percent increase in December, with both exports and imports contributing to the overall expansion.
