Recently, about 70,000 tulips have been blooming beautifully near the viewing platform of the Kunming Caohai Dam, attracting crowds of tourists to take pictures and “check in”.

This sea of flowers composed of about 70,000 tulips forms colourful waves gently undulating with the rhythm of the wind, or passionate and unrestrained, or warm and bright, vivid and warm. Walking through it is like being in a gallery of nature, giving a sense of refreshment.

Tourist from Nanjing: "It's quite spectacular. We came from Nanjing. There aren't so many flowers in Nanjing. When we first saw these flowers here, we thought they were fake. Kunming is indeed a Spring City with four seasons like spring. Yunnan is fun. I will come back next time.

Tourist from Zhengzhou: "Although it is winter, it feels like spring and flowers are blooming. I am very happy and want to take pictures here".

Greening maintenance staff introduced that this batch of tulips has received a lot of praise since it was planted on 23 January, and the beautiful scenery can last until the end of February.

Xiao Heng, Manager of Kunming Xinghai Greening Design Department: "Now is the season to watch seagulls at Caohai Dam. The blooming of the tulips can bring the vibrant scene of the Spring City with flowers in full bloom, and bring a visual feast of seagulls and flowers dancing together to the guests who come to play at the dam".

More surprises await in this green belt as March approaches.

Xiao Heng, head of Kunming Xinghai Greening Design Department: "During the winter, the bougainvillea were taken to the nursery greenhouse for maintenance. In early March, the bougainvillea will be in full bloom. At that time, we will bring the bougainvillea back to the public".
