Sri Lanka's Industrial Development Board (IDB) plans to prioritize the electrical, electronic, and mechanical sectors when allocating land for new industries in the future, local media reported on Sunday quoting IDB Chairman Ravi Nissanka.
Nissanka stated that the IDB has been gathering business proposals through a recently launched initiative. The board intends to develop an action plan to allocate land to the most promising proposals, he said.
Priority will be given to projects in the electrical, electronic and mechanical sectors, as these industries can be launched quickly and are expected to provide immediate economic benefits to the country, he said.
