A research conference on the relationship between food safety and environmental health under the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) framework was held in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar, on Tuesday.
The research conference, jointly organized by Yezin Agricultural University and Myanmar's Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation, was funded by LMC Special Fund 2022.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Tin Htut, Myanmar's deputy minister for agriculture, livestock, and irrigation, underscored the relationship between food safety and environmental health, highlighting the conference's significance as a platform for exchanging ideas on residue limits.
He emphasized the importance of focusing on agricultural research and extension. He also stressed the need to fill the gap between professionals and farmers in the region, saying that communication is very important.
Experts from China and Thailand, along with officials from Yezin Agricultural University and Myanmar's Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation, participated in the conference.
