Beautiful Life in Yunnan | Tie-dye in Zhoucheng : A Romantic Heritage Through the Ages

Tie-dye, an ancient art of the Bai ethnic group in Dali, finds its heart in Zhou Cheng, known as the "Hometown of Bai Tie-dye". Here, people make a living by batik, skillfully combining natural rhythms with human wisdom, showcasing ever-changing color combinations. The most common is that touch of blue, which complements the blue sky and white clouds, symbolizing the vitality of life.

Grandma's Workshop - Jinhua Tie-dye Studio is a small tie-dye shop in Zhoucheng that has been passed down the craft for a hundred years. In a courtyard adorned with tie-dye works, several elderly Bai artisans have taught generation after generation of inheritors. Each piece tells a story, capturing the essence of time and beauty. Tie-dye is not just a craft; it is a romantic legacy that embodies the rich history and artistic spirit of the Bai people.(Kaipingxinwen reporter Wang Lixuan, intern Yang Rongdie, photo report)
