Ramadan starts in Bangladesh from Tuesday

Bangladesh Muslims start Ramadan from Tuesday as officials saw the crescent moon Monday, marking the start of the holy fasting month in the country.

Bangladesh's National Moon Sighting Committee took the decision at a meeting Monday night after the new moon was sighted in the country's sky this evening.

Muslims follow a lunar calendar and a moonlighting methodology that can lead to different countries declaring the start of Ramadan a day or two apart.
