To admire charming flowers in winter

Winter in Kunming has its own unique charm. In this season, you can admire the plum blossoms in Heilongtan Park, the camellia in Golden Temple, and the magnolia in Tanhua Temple, all blooming with their unique radiance.

Plum blossoms in Heilongtan are praised as the "elves in winter". There are various types of plum blossoms here, including pink flowering plum, cinnabar plum, and apricot plum. Each blossom emits a light fragrance, ranging from pure white to vibrant red. In the winter sunshine, the plum blossoms complement the ancient pavilions, bringing visitors a sense of tranquility and grace.

After years of cultivation, Heilongtan Park has planted hundreds of mus of plum blossoms of more than 200 varieties. At present, Heilongtan Park is holding the 28th Kunming Plum Blossoms Festival which lasts until February 28th. There are over 100 varieties with over ten thousand ground-planted plum blossoms and over one thousand potted plum blossoms on display.

Also, you cannot miss out on the magnolia in Tanhua Temple. Currently, magnolia flowers are blooming in the park with white being the predominant color. The most famous variety in Tanhua Temple is magnolia delavayi, which blooms during April and May. In February this year, Tanhua Temple will hold the 13th Peony Exhibition, with thousands of peonies on display to visitors.

Camellias are starting to bloom in the Golden Temple attraction, as the red camellia in front of Zhongtong Hall bloomed for the first round in 2024.

In addition, the Golden Temple attraction has held the 36th Camillia Flower Exhibition from January 1st to March 7th, covering the Spring Festival and Golden Temple Fair on the 9th day of the Chinese Lunar Calendar.
