Inside Chenggong Central Park (Exit B of Tuofeng Street Subway Station), there is a dreamy flower sea of zinnia elegans that is relatively unknown. Walking amidst it, colorful flowers bloom freely under the sunlight, swaying gently with the breeze, and the delicate floral fragrance is refreshing to the senses.

Purple, white, pink,
orange, yellow...

The zinnia elegans is an annual plant belonging to the Asteraceae family. Its name "步步高" (Bù Bù Gāo) in Chinese comes from the fact that the flowers on the lateral branches bloom higher than the first flower that opens at the top.

The zinnia elegans has a long flowering period from June to September. It continues to bloom during this time and can maintain their vibrant colors for an extended period, symbolizing everlasting friendship.

The cultivation history of zinnia elegans in China dates back to the 1920s when it was introduced from the United States and Japan. It was initially cultivated in parks of coastal cities. In the 1940s, it started to be introduced from Europe and the United States, and at that time, it was mainly grown on a small scale in major cities.
