According to China Railway Kunming Group Co., Ltd., as of August 16th, the China-Laos Railway has transported a total of 20.09 million passengers, including 17.09 million passengers travelling on the domestic section, and 3 million passengers travelling on the foreign section. The China-Laos Railway has effectively promoted the port economy, cross-border tourism, and cultural exchanges, making new contributions to the development of the China-Laos Economic Corridor and the deepening of the China-Laos community with a shared future.
At 13:19 on August 16th, the D888 international passenger train from Vientiane Station to Kunming South Station steadily arrived at Platform 3 of Mohan Station. Four minutes later, the D887 international passenger train from Kunming South Station to Vientiane Station slowly departed from Platform 1 of Mohan Station. This marked the 126th encounter of "Fuxing" and "Lancang" CRH trains at Mohan Station.
Mohan Station is located in the Mohan Economic Development Zone of Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture. Standing on the China-Laos border, it is the largest station along the China-Laos Railway. Every day, trains stream across Mohan Station, and people flow in and out, showing a bustling scene. Since the launch of the China-Laos Railway international passenger train on April 13th this year, 53,000 passengers from 53 countries and regions have traveled across the border by the high-speed train from Mohan Station.
Since the launch of the China-Laos Railway international passenger train, taking the high-speed train via the China-Laos Railway for cross-border travel and sightseeing has become the preferred choice for more people. In response, the railway department has scientifically analyzed changes in passenger flow, dynamically adjusted transport capacity, enriched passenger transportation products, and implemented the "one-day-one-schedule" measure to meet the travel needs of passengers, actively creating a pleasant travel environment.
It is reported that the China-Laos Railway has operated over 13,000 passenger trains from January 1st to August 16th this year, achieving a 22% increase compared to the same period last year, and has transported 11.2 million passengers, achieving a 101% increase compared to the same period last year. The China-Laos Railway has promoted economic and trade exchanges between China and Laos and the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative, making it a “golden channel” connecting China and the world, radiating to the surrounding areas, and promoting mutual benefits.
