Jiangwei Village welcomes lotus flower season

Dragon Boat Festival is the best time to appreciate lotus flowers in Jiangwei Village of Kunming City, Yunnan Province. Lush green leaves and blooming red lotuses captivate many citizens to visit.

At a lotus pond along the bank of Dianchi Lake in Jiangwei Village, layers of emerald lotus leaves and red lotus flowers in full bloom stretch far into the distance, like a natural coat put on the field. “I live nearby. I come here to admire lotus every year and then appreciate the unique scenery of Dianchi Lake just a few steps away,” Ms. Li, a visitor, told the journalist.

Jiangwei Village is also a popular place for Kunming people to escape the summer heat. Many children played near the lotus pond, and vendors sold lotus buds on the road. Travelers took pictures of this refreshing summer scenery. The lotus flower season in Jiangwei Village will last from the end of May till the end of September every year. Jiangwei Village is open to visitors all day with free entry.
