It is known that during the period of the Republic of China, except Dacheng Hall, which was still retained as a temple to commemorate Confucius, other buildings were set into book museums, lecture halls and so on to serve the education. Lin Huiyin and Liang Sicheng once held an exhibition of "Construction Method" in the Confucius Temple of Kunming. Southwest Associated University held evening classes here, and Zhu Ziqing and other celebrities gave lectures here. Since its establishment in 1950, the Kunming Cultural Center has been working in the Confucius Temple, which has been used as an important place for carrying out public cultural activities in Kunming.
