Munaozongge, a Dance Festival of Jingpo People

In the morning of February 5, after the exciting Jingpo music resounding, the dancers led the dance teams to walk slowly into the Munaozongge dance venue, and the 39th Munaozongge Festival in Longchuan County, Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture officially opened.
At about 9 a.m., the two dance teams slowly circled the field, following their own routes and keeping moving, like two long dragons snaking around the venue.
Handsome Jingpo men, with long knives and spears, danced to the beat of the drums. The beautiful Jingpo girls danced with shoulder ornament tinkling. The dance showed the bravery, diligence and kindness of Jingpo people. Tourists danced and took pictures with other people dressed in costumes. According to statistics, a total of 12,000 people took part in the grand festival.
The Munaozongge Festival is the grandest traditional festival of Jingpo people. It is not only a display of the history, culture and art of Jingpo nationality, but also a grand gathering for the great unity and celebration of all ethnic groups. Because of the large number of participants, Munaozongge is known as the "dance of ten thousand people", and was included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
