The 10th edition of "Dhaka Lit Fest," Bangladesh's largest cultural event, raised its curtain on Thursday in the capital Dhaka after a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Bangladeshi State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid, Nobel laureate Abdulrazak Gurnah, and Indian writer and literary critic Amitav Ghosh inaugurated the event at the Bangla Academy, an autonomous institution funded by the Bangladeshi government to foster the Bengali language, literature and culture.
The grand festival will be featured with conversations, dialogues, film screenings, art exhibitions, music, cultural shows and much more.
Apart from diverse conversations and dialogues, sessions on science and technology, the Dhaka Lit Fest or DLF will be featured with programs for children and youths, film screenings, drama staging, music and cultural functions.
Organizers had earlier said that over 500 speakers, performers, and thinkers representing five continents will participate in the four-day event comprising 175 sessions.
The DLF remained suspended for three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 9th DLF was held in November 2019.
