The English version of painted science poster "Birds List in Kunming" has been launched

The second phase of the Fifteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP 15) to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) started in Montreal, Canada, on December 7. In order to show the beauty of Kunming's ecology to the world, the English version of "Birds List in Kunming" popular science painted posters will be published on all the channels of the Kunming Information Hub.

These posters aim to show the world the charm of Kunming's biodiversity through the popularization of science about birds. During the meeting, the English version of the painted science poster "Birds List in Kunming" will be issued daily on the Kunming Information Hub's "InKunming" English website, "Sabaidi" Lao language website, "Caiyun Bridge" Myanmar language website, as well as the Facebook, etc. In this way can overseas netizens know more about the story of "feathered elves" while appreciating nice posters.

The posters are selected on the basis of the previous 120 Chinese posters to present the birds with Kunming characteristics. The layout is optimized and the content is translated into English. The English painted bird posters have been completely designed from visual narrative structure to aesthetics and concepts. At the same time, the posters still mark the bird-watching seasons and places of various birds in Kunming in English, as well as folk names, which is easy to capture key information for readers.

This activity is guided by the CPC Kunming Municipal Committee and organized by Kunming Information Hub and Kunming Bird Association and co-supported by Niao Hui Hua Ying from the School of Fine Arts and Art Design of Kunming University.

The activity was fully launched in February this year, with a total of 120 colorful popular science posters and original hand-painted H5 long rolls. A series of media works received more than 50 million attention on the Internet. At the same time, there are various interesting cultural and creative products based on the IP image of more than 100 species of birds, as well as some bird-watching activities offline.
