Cambodia's new agriculture minister wins parliament's confidence vote

Cambodia's National Assembly on Friday endorsed senior energy official Dith Tina as the minister of agriculture, forestry and fisheries, replacing former minister Veng Sakhon.

Some 111 lawmakers, including Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen, who was present during the voting session, unanimously gave Tina their vote of confidence.

"Based on the result of this vote, I would like to declare that Dith Tina won the National Assembly's confidence vote as the minister of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries," National Assembly President Samdech Heng Samrin announced at the end of the voting session.

Tina, former secretary of state at the Ministry of Mines and Energy, replaced Sakhon, who was appointed as a minister attached to the Prime Minister.
