The upcoming 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) will have a significant global impact, according to a British scholar, who also hailed the innovative ideas put forward by the Chinese leadership over the past decade to boost human development and cooperation. Author Martin Jacques, a former senior fellow at the Department of Politics and International Studies of Cambridge University, said Chinese President Xi Jinping was a "remarkable leader" who had steered China through a strong period of development and international influence, noting proposals such as the Belt and Road Initiative which have boosted cooperation among developing countries.
