The world's first panoramic sightseeing mountain tourist train recently made its debut in Lijiang.

This train is developed and produced by CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co., Ltd. Currently, it is on a test run and will be officially put into operation in the second half of this year. The train exterior design was inspired by Lijiang's beautiful Blue Moon Lake, where the train got its name "Mirror of the Sky".

The overall design of the train won the 2022 iF Design Award, the "Oscar" of the design industry. The entire train windows are large-scale viewing side windows with electric dimming, which can be adjusted according to the intensity of sunlight, offering both sun protection and viewing. Meanwhile, considering that the altitude of the driving route increases from the old town to the snow-capped mountain, the looking-up-viewing angle along the way achieves a field of vision from 120 degrees to 150 degrees. Thus, passengers could have a panoramic view through the window, enjoying magnificent snow mountains, the blue-jade-like lake, and the stunning canyon.

The panoramic sightseeing mountain tourist train runs at a maximum speed of 70 kilometers per hour and has a maximum passenger capacity of around 350 people. After the opening of the train, it only takes 20 minutes for tourists to enter the Yulong Snow Mountain from the old town of Lijiang City.
